We created a slick modern take on the freight business using white, color and stunning photography.

InHouse and Crown Logistics joined forces and needed to upgrade their website at the same time. We started off with a very simple concept derived from the new logo and used modern technologies to implement this, like webfonts, ajax tabs, image rotator and sliding animations.

The result is a quick navigation on tabs instead of reloading many smaller pages. Also, the testimonials at the bottom is a stiking feature where InHouse Crown wanted their customers have their say. The also website includes the same global map from the international site. The staff pictures and diagrams and brochure downloads, completes this website into a useful and functional site.

Everything is large and bold. 

We upgraded the site we build a few years ago for Team AA. New look, upgraded the CMS and merged and combined.

We brought the CMS up to the latest version to get the Team AA to use the latest best version of the CMS and it's tools and functions. This alone has greatly improved the client's productivity. We also updated Catalog Extension, merging some catalogs and content pages to improve navigation.

Also, we upgraded the site to a completely new and fresh Theme, with a shick minimalist and real estate look and feel. The featured item now showcases products in a stunning way. Also, the layout of the Property Viewer page has been updated to include a scrollable gallery of smaller images to save space and proving a great touchup with some elegant icons to match the new layout of the content.

HP wanted a really fantastic design, so we pulled out all the stops for this vintage style, modern-take.

A press release day filled with creativity, relaxation and fun, just like the e-vite.

This e-vite is the first of our Executive designs. Created to fill the gap where the client needed something more special, with more attention and more time spend on all the elements and careful thought attached.

Since the press members were going to eat pizza and create ceramic plates, and all taking place at a rustic timber location, these elements were integrated into the e-vite design.

E-vite, Gift Cards and Screensaver Collateral for the Rugby World Cup Incentive.

We started developing the kiwi concept around some free New Zealand icons. Registration, claim and points informer e-vites and e-mailers were designed first. Then we added the desktop screensaver and finally the gift tags.

Rugby is a core sport in South Africa and of course designing sport e-vites is an eventuality in most design.

This evite just puts the two teams head to head in an e-vite that tinkers with the loyalty heart strings.

A-Plus and HP celebrated Woman's Day with a fresh E-vite design.

Incorporating floral background, gift wrap and the sponsor company into the multi-e-vite, with donations going to Mothers2Mothers.

We redesigned and re-engineered a completely fresh and new look for the AdventureBookings.co.za website and implemented a first phase of booking availability.

From the diagonal stripe theme to soft shading of white, grey and red tones, the new look is a stark contrast to the previous iteration. The system was also moved from a proprietary system to the Contao CMS, with extensions. 

The primary extension we used was the Isotope Product system, as online payment will be introduced in a later phase. Then we added to catalog, and numerous extensions to facilitate tabs, accordions, kwicks sliders, image sliders and various custom integrations to create the google map, the location tree, category tree. Also, lost of custom conversions were done to cross-import the old data into a new database.

Also a first phase was developed to incorporate an online availability and booking system to show free seats.

Finally a supplier login area where suppliers can login, update the profile, retrieve lost passwords and list products, edit product or add new products. 

We created SpecialTravelDeals with a new look, using a shared data system with another site. The look is clean fresh with stunning web 2.0 buttons.

The original site was reworked to be a new site that would feed it's data from another site in a shared hosting. The CMS we used can easily handle multiple domains on a single server, so we chose to use this shared hosting method.

The underlying property database engine was modified to flag items to be shared, or belong exclusively to this sub-site. Then each item was also classified as EAT, SLEEP, PLAY, FLY.

We completely re-designed the old Solomon's Guide website and created a completely new customised back-end system in Contao to edit properties, locations and wisdom "bites".

Solomon's Guide is an printed booklet that contains approximately 600 properties all over Southern African continent.

The existing website was getting dated in it's look and feel, and also the data system wasn't providing Moja Media with the dynamic abilities that a CMS will provide. Since we've done a few previous projects together, we got tasked to design a fresh new look, based on their latest printed cover design.

Orange shades and some striping, create a stunning new web 2.0 look for the website. 

To facilitate the editing of the Properties, Locations and Wisdoms, we created a completely custom application for the client. Each property has a large amount of data that is stored and presented. Numerous grids of check data like Accreditations, Facilities, Interests, Activities, Environments, Conference Facilities, Languages and Attractions had to be re-engineered. Adding to that you can define seasons per property, units inside property (for different rooms or types of units) and each unit can have multiple prices for each of the defined seasons. All of this data was reengineered, then old data imported and remapped. We also added Booking information to link the Safari Now booking system into the site.

Then we created a completely new application to build a location tree. Each location can have meta data, GPS coordinates (to plot on the Google Map), type (country, province, city, suburb, etc.) and special text fields for sections like "Did You Know?", "Festivals & Fun", "Features, Creatures and Flower Power", etc. Locations can be listed and featured and then you can switch to property listings.

The wisdom bite app is attached to a location and will randomly show a wisdom bite at the bottom of the page, relative to the location.

In the front-end, the system allows detailed filtering by property type and destination. There is also an advanced search page where the search form auto-collapses.

Other features are QuickFind, which does an AJAX live search of properties, locations and property types, and also a moderated review for each property, where guests can review each property.

This project took about 5 months to complete.

We moved Tatt2 from their existing static website, with a dated look to a CMS and a fresh new modern web 2.0 look and feel.

A complete look and feel re-designed around their colours, taking into account a translucent appearance to everything.

The existing content was also moved, grouped and combined to make it more easily accessible through the use of accordion expanding elements.

The client is also now fully able to update their content themselves through the use of Contao CMS.

They got so excited, they asked me if I could let them design their own favicon 

An advertising flash and animated GIF banner for Cape Town PRIDE to highlight the 2 biggest events. It includes the Parade Party, the RED Party and a final logo display.

It's currently featured on www.gaydar.co.za and other pride-related sites.

New website for Integra Polygraph. The look is viseral and immediate with stark contrast to reflect the risk and polygraph testing "undertone".

Integra Risk Management provides comprehensive Intelligence, Investigative and Risk Management services to corporate business customers.

The client approved the first prototype, with minor color shading changes. Stock photos completes the look and feel.

Moja Heritage was stumbling along using freeform content pages in Joomla, so after doing the new Moja Media logo and website, they approached me to re-do Moja Heritage Collection Online version, as we also originally designed the printed booklet layout template.

Things were kept very simple and clean, to let the advert listings speak, while keeping Moja's branding in the site in a fun and interesting way. The Category navigation was the first thing designed as a kind of a lollypop ice-cream sticks or vertical TAB navigation filter. Then also the CSS hover map for the destinations was added as a second dimension to the browsing filter.

What's really interesting is that there are actually two database tables, one for the Listings and one for the Destinations and the system swaps the detail display between Listing, Filter, Destination seamlessly. If you uncheck all the filters, you just go back to the home page again. A destination's detail, is only accessible this when you unselect a category, or if you go directly to the destination from the home page. 

I've also designed a custom ajax search as part of the system, that doesn't use the Contao search, but directly searches the titles of the entries only and provides their reader page links in a list. You'll see this is a smoking feature.

ARTG is a Business Training company with special focus on Insurance Certification and also does Blended Learning.

We redesigned the website to a completely new look and feel, as the old one was primarily just grey. The new look is fresh, clean and vibrant, using photography to liven things up.

We also condensed much of the page content by using really nice accordions and spiced up the text content with some great icons from BazaarDesigns.

Final touches are some subtle top menu effects and also some special accordion-style MooTools animation for the Left Navigation.

We designed the website for Plumbago Photography who specialises in Family Albums, Wall Prints and Online Albums. Portraits, events & special occasions, nature & landscape for Families & Businesses.

The client wanted to highlight the photography in few ways:

• A Showcase of current work, grouped by category
• Explain printing services
• Protected Members-only web albums (for showing all taken photos, not just the ones that were printed)
• The photographs are to be the main focus

To achieve a nice contrast with the Color and Black/white photos, I used a black background. Then adding a special vignette feature which cross-fades for every header page, section or member album makes the photography really stand out.

The Photography page also has 2 nice special effects: (1) the photo categories have a left/right scroller, that "pages" through more photos (to make the display of them less obtrusive) and (2) the toplink at the bottom does a nice smooth scroll up to the top. 

The client is able to update all the content and images, and the system auto-vignettes all the images.

Moja Media is a newly formed company from the split of Moja Marketing into Moja Media and MojaNation. Moja Media wanted a really hi-tech look and feel. 

Moja Media specialises in vibrant, user-friendly print and web tourism media in Southern Africa. Practically speaking, we produce a variety of printed guides and brochures, visitor maps and tourism websites within the tourism industry. We also produce directories for other industries.

We used their primary color of red — normally a difficult color on the web to use — by counterpointing it with orange and grey tones. This makes their guides, maps and online listings really stand out immediately.

We developed a custom system for them to list their online, guides and maps and it makes it really easy to manage the guides as they become available, assign new rate cards to them and edit team information. 

We finished it off by adding a Google Maps block for the two office locations.

We approached this website revamp as a portfolio showcase of what Lloyd Kandlin can do as an multi-faceted artist.

The design is simple, yet after adding the stunning deep-etched photographs of Lloyd as acrobat, in costume and just doing his music and acting thing, makes for a result that is quite dramatic.

The addition of a mouseover accordion menu, image galleries, music and video elements make this website a creative talent expo with a personal edge.

Computing services for consolidation, virtualisation and eco-computing is a pretty boring topic, until you weave with the Social and Economic flavour that is the primary focus of the company. 

A brand new look and feel was invented that speaks different from their industry, yet connects with their own brand identity.

Within minutes after completing the User Training, the client was editing and updating their website.

HP and First Technology held a cookout at the Wicked Cooking School.

The invite aims to show the fun and excitement of previous participants at the Wicked Cooking School.

We were tasked to redesign James Delaney's website art catalog with a fresh new clean look. We stripped the design down to a bare minimum and went with white background and Helvetica Light font and also tones of grey for all text and headings and info boxes. The artwork colors shine through as they become the focus of the site.

Since the previous system was a custom CMS, we moved the back-end over to Contao (ex TYPOlight) as the CMS of choice. We re-developed the gallery extension to become suitable as a catalog system for artworks, photography and photo galleries.

SODA asked us to redesign their logo and also to create a new look for their advertising in magazines.

We created a clean-lined look and feel with a variety of image placements, so that with follow-up adverts in the run, we can simply swap out the interiors photos for new ones.
