Avatar, the 3D blockbuster movie that everyone talked about for months (ok, they're still talking about it) will be re-released in a special edition version containing 6 minutes 8 minutes of additional footage on August 27, 2010.

You have to consider that Avatar has garnered 9 Academy nominations that include Best Director and Best Picture, of which it won 3 Academy Awards: Cinematography, Visual Effects, and Art Direction.

Avatar's success in financial terms is unprecedented. Currently, the grossing total for the movie is an unheard of $2.740 billion.
